Stansted Airport (EGSS) - Jet Charter Services
Travelers flying into London have a lot of airport choices – 10 within 30 miles – but London Stansted is the airport of choice for heads of state and other elite travelers who fly or charter private business jets into the world’s top financial center.
London Stansted (EGSS, STN) is the only London VIP gateway that has 24-hour service, 365 days a year for every size private and commercial jet. Its 10,000-foot runway enables direct international flights at the airport that is only 45 minutes east of the city’s center. London Stansted is the only London airport that can handle VIP jets larger than B767s. Regardless of the size of the private business jet, the long runway makes for safe and comfortable landings even in the worse weather conditions.
With more than 8,000 VIP and business aviation flights a year, Stansted is London’s executive airport of choice.
Named after the nearby village of Stansted Mountfitchet, it is located in the largely rural Essex countryside.

Rent a private jet into STN
London Stansted is located in England’s most affluent region. It is the airport closest to Cambridge, where the University of Cambridge is located. In fact, it is almost directly between Cambridge and London. And, it is the airport that is closest to “Silicon Roundabout,” a district in East London where more than 300 tech startups are located.
Private business jets have their own taxiways on and off a runway that is close to the business aviation terminals. If you charter a private business jet to London Stansted, you will find that you spend a lot less time taxiing and will not be delayed waiting for commercial jets to move.
Stansted began, like many airports do, as a World War II airfield. It was meant to be a bomber base and its two-mile long runway was originally built to handle massive U.S. Air Force Flying Fortresses.
Stansted’s importance to London grew in the 1980s when a need for a third London international airport was realized. Projections found Heathrow Airport (EGLL, LHR) and Gatwick Airport (EGKK, LGW) would not be able to handle all future air traffic.
Stansted Airport, which was completely renovated in 1991, is not only ideally located between London and Cambridge, 34 miles to Canary Wharf, it also has room for expansion if and when needed. Its original north terminal was turned into a business aviation center.
Business travelers can easily get to the Bank of England on Threadneedle Street from Stansted Airport.
